The synopsis of the film:
Environmental protection has become a hot topic in recent years in the world. The contamination of the Songhua River taking place in late November 2005, considered as the fourteenth biggest of its kind by the international environmental protection organizations, is an issue with worldwide impact. The incident is worthy of attention, recording and reviewing from the TV directors.
The important events such as the developing stories, armed police assisted water plants in putting activated carbon, human touch stories taking place between Harbin residents should be recorded in the incident.
The film "Two People in Seven Days" focuses on the daily life of two people who experienced the Songhua River contamination and the water crisis. The film was produced from the angle of two ordinary people, which aims to make audience further understand the impacts brought by the contamination as well as to enhance people's awareness of environmental protection.
The documentary sets the Harbin water crisis as its background. The directors recorded two people's daily life in accordance with the development of the crisis. Professor Ma Shuzhu started her investigation into the contamination of the Songhua River on her own initiative. Wang Shuang was involved in the incident passively and started realizing the importance of environmental protection. At the end of the crisis Miss Wang file a lawsuit and sued the Jilin chemical plant, which caused the water crisis in Harbin.
The film reviews the disaster from common people's angle and expresses the concern of the public over the long polluted Songhua River. Meanwhile it reveals the masses' growing awareness of environmental protection.
The documentary records what the two people thought and what they did during the incident in a very natural way, making it more persuasive towards audience.
