For generations, the Tibetan people have been living in the environment with an elevation above 3000 meters, the rigid natural living condition, together with the screen of the mountains, kept the Tibetan area from the influence of outside culture. For thousand years the Tibetan people have been make their living on growing barley. The coming of an outside stranger had changed the life style of the Bu Ge family and many other Tibetan people in Shangri-la, the vast cultivated fields used for barley plantation suddenly changed to plastic canopy for growing vegetables. This change had greatly affected the Tibetan people's cornerstone for their livelihood, the abandon of barley plantation means a lot to Ge San Zuo Ma and her family, this means great change has took place on their generation in a subtle way. "Shangri-la Woma" filming group took three years to accomplish this documentary film, it's mainly telling you the story of the Bu Ge family living in the Shangri-la Tibetan area. Sharing with you the hostess Ge San Zuo Ma's life and hardship, as well as showing you the picturesque scenery in Shangri-la, in order to foreground the image of a strong and brave Tibetan woman.
