It is a story of Wei Xing director of Yunnan TV station shooting Yunnan snob-nosed monkey in a a national Nature Reserve, Diqing White-horse Snow Mountain.
It had been the third year of Wei Xing’s shooting for Yunnan snob-nosed monkey in the spring of 2003. Wei Xing had grasped the highlight of Yunnan snob-nosed monkeys drinking water. The monkeys had drunk up the water of the only pool so the whole staff had no water at all later. The shooting task went smoothly in spring. However, just when Wei Xing was thanking his lucky stars, the matter changed abruptly. On a rainy night Wei Xing’s dynamo broke and the whole shooting job paralyzed.
It is very difficult for shooting in Summer. Wei Xing had to suffer from the continuous rain and leech biting. He hoped to grasp the scenes of the snob-nosed monkey eating bamboo. However, Wei Xing could not fix the shooting location sometimes due to the bushy vegetation, intricate landform, as well as the movable nature of the monkeys…Finally, everything was all done. Monkeys were coming but a small mistake destroyed the elaborate preparation which had took them half a month…
At last, after overcoming the difficulties, Wei Xing caught the scenes of the monkeys eating bamboo shoots.
This program has won the first prize of the Government Award of Yunnan Province.
