Based on a Chinese folk tale, tells a forbidden romance between JANYI, a white snake ghost and HOLEMAN, a poor medicine man living a simple life. Janyi wants to be his wife and because he's so poor that he can't afford to marry her. So for the rest of the film, Janyi tries to change his destiny by interfering with mother nature. But the more she does, the worst his life gets. Meanwhile, a Taoist monk tries to stop their union as he persuades Holeman that his wife is not human but a white snake ghost. As Holeman's getting fed up with all the troubles that has fallen on him, Janyi offers to leave him alone. But will Holeman be content with normal again?
