After the Xuanwu Gate Coup, the emperor Li Shimin started the construction of the Daming Palace, which was completed at the reign of emperor Gaozong (Li Zhi) of Tang Dynasty, in order to fix the relationship with his father Li Yuan. The Daming Palace had witnessed the reign of emperors including Li Zhi, Wu Zetian and Li Longji, etc. Standing by over 130 years of resplendence of the Tang Dynasty and suffered many disasters after the An Shi Rebellion arose in 755 AD., it was destroyed in 904 AD when the emperor Zhaozong was forced by Zhu Wen to move the capital to Luoyang.
