Tori evicted from 90210

CW's Beverly Hills reboot loses an original cast member due to contract issues; Spelling demanded equal pay to Garth, Doherty.

The CW knew that it couldn't just cast young up-and-coming heartthrobs in its Beverly Hills, 90210 revisit, simply titled 90210. No, to get a shred of respect that the original had (it had some, didn't it?) and give the franchise its proper due, the network had to sign some of the original cast members to reprise their roles as spoiled Southern California citizens.

Tori won't be hanging out in Beverly Hills.

Over several months, many names were thrown around as potential BH returnees, and when the dust settled, Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor), Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh), and Tori Spelling (Donna Martin) had signed on to head back to the famous zip code.

Tori Spelling was originally slated to appear in several early episodes of the series, but last month was forced to postpone her appearance because of the birth of her new baby. The contingency plan had her showing up later in the season, but...it seems that plan ain't going so good.

According to Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood, there will be no Tori--and hence, no Donna--in 90210 this year. Citing sources, the article claims that Spelling was to receive 10,000 to 20,000 dollars per episode, but found out that Doherty and Garth were to receive 35,000 to 50,000 dollars per episode. That didn't sit too well with Spelling, who demanded equal pay or she would walk. The CW didn't budge, and now Spelling is O-U-T.

"[Tori] thought she deserved parity, and she's got a point," an insider told Finke.
